Welcome friends!  I am so glad you are here.

My name is Shay and I am a wedding and portrait photographer in Tucson, AZ.  For years, I had an amazing, thriving business.  I was elementary school teacher by day and photographer by night (and weekends).  Then, about 3 years ago, I had a baby on the same day that my dad had surgery, a surgery that resulted in a terminal cancer diagnosis for him…and I suspected it might be too much to manage being wife, mom, daughter, teacher, and photographer, but I continued to push through.  I’ll never forget sitting in a closet during a wedding, pumping, crying, and calling my husband telling him I couldn’t do it anymore.  It wasn’t fair to my family or my brides, so I made the heartbreaking decision to step away.

Over the last 3 years, so much has happened!  My love for my husband has only grown deeper.  He’s amazing.  My kids have grown up a little bit.   They’re cool too.  My dad is still fighting the fight.  Only by the grace of God.  AND I am back in business!  I missed photography so much. It felt like a piece of me was missing.  I decided that if it was meant to be, I would find a way to balance everything…and here we are!

I love photographing people.  The legacy of a family.  The sweetness of a couple. The excitement of a graduate. The romance of a wedding.  The emotions surrounding all of these are what fuel me as an artist.  I feel so blessed and honored to be able to provide timeless memories for my clients.  To stop time and capture their lives in moments that may have otherwise been lost.

I am so excited to back in the game!  Like so so so excited.  I am thrilled to work with my sweet, loyal families I have been photographing for years and can’t wait to connect with some amazing new clients this year.  I am jazzed to crank up the music and sing at the top of my lungs on the way to your session.
